The Day Hank Williams Died Whilst we are busy preparing our gigs at EuroSonic2013 and arranging the last bits and bobs for our tour in Indonesia, here's a something just for your pleasure. On New Year's Day Djurre played a few songs during the Hank Williams Tribute in Paradiso. And if we may believe the press, he delivered an amazing performance: "Djurre de Haan (awkward i) performed his fantastic own version of Ramblin' Man. With his tough and forceful voice, he made this sons his own and transformed Hank Williams sorrow into a battle song for the wandering man"... We couldn't find a properly filmed version of Ramblin' Man, so here's Lost Highway:
Only a few humble days left before we are gathering under the Christmas-tree, singing Christmas-carols, once again. As it still takes more than 45 days before we can “make a joyful noise and let it ring”, we will celebrate other valuable occasions.
Occasions, like this year's last project byParadiso Melkweg Productiehuis, on Saturday 27 October in the Amstelkerk in Amsterdam. Murder Ballads will open this special night and after the break Jelle Paulusma, Carol van Dyk, Ro Halfhide, Peter te Bos and of course Djurre de Haan will close the night with a Traditionals Live concert. In case you are wondering now: “What are Traditionals?”, the answer can be found here... In case you are thinking: “Sounds good, but Iam busy on Saturday”, no worries, In A Cabin With is organizing a whole tour of Traditionals Live concerts during the following weeks, just have a look at our tour-dates.
And maybe, maybe because it's nearly Christmas or maybe due to the spur of the moment and the spirit of the place, Djurre will play a song or two on his ---> --->
As today is Liberation Day, we liberated Keez from Lola Kite and captured him behind our drum-kit as we will join the "Bevrijdingsfestival" in Amsterdam and dedicate a few songs to freedom. See you at 18.15 at the Beursplein... PS: A big thank you to Lola Kite for making this possible...
